Urban Decay's Naked3 Palette is coming!

AGH!!

Yes! Urban Decay are bringing out their Naked3 Palette, This launch is going to be huge!

The original Naked Palette was released at the end of June 2010, and it just took over the whole makeup world, and then the Naked2 Palette was released and it was even more popular, and still to this day they are the most coveted items by everyone, from people who just like to get dolled up every now and again to full on makeup addicts, Everyone wants their own to play with :)

On Friday 08.11.13 Urban Decay decided to give a little conformation to use by posting a video letting us know that Naked3 is coming, They gave no pics or specifics, just a video teaser. (Video link is below)

So, since the Naked Palette is all about standard neutrals and the Naked2 Palette has more bronze and gold neutral shades, what is really left for them to do? Well, Let me tell you! This Naked3 Palette has 12 new shades that all have been created with pinky/rosey undertones, even the packaging which is similar to the Naked2 Palette has more of a rose gold finish, which kinda figures as their packaging always reflects the colours inside, Naked3 consists of 3 Matte shades, 6 Shimmer/Sparkle shades and 3 Satin shades.

I will list the colours and colour descriptions below from light to dark (left to right in the palette)

Strange - Pale neutral matte satin
Dust- Pale metallic shimmer with iridescent micro glitter
Trick - Light peachy pink satin
Limit - Light dusty rose matte
Buzz - Metallic rose shimmer with silver micro glitter
Trick - Light metallic pinky copper shimmer with total micro sparkles
Nooner - Pinky brown matte
Liar - Medium metallic mauve shimmer
Factory - Pinky brown satin
Mugshot - Metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift
Dark side - Deep taupe mauve satin
Black Heart - Smokey black matte with rosey red micro shimmer

So, there you have it, Urban Decay have announced that Naked3 will be released in the US in early to mid December, i wonder how fast this one will sell out, i'l be getting mine asap! see ye all in the waiting line :)

Makeup brands for beginners

Hey all!

Sorry that it has been so long since my last post, my schedule was a bit cray cray there for a while with my MUA course and work hours.

So, what i'm talking about today is good quality affordable brands that are good for people starting out in makeup, if you know me, you know that i love to shop online and it really gets to me when i am excited about a purchase from a new site and then the items turn out to be bad quality..... Nothing worse! But hey, its trail and error. i will share with you the sites i think are great value for money and a great quality.

1) http://www.coastalscents.com/

Coastal Scents is great! Whether you want to start a career in makeup artistry or just love makeup this is the site for you, They have a great selection of makeup, brushes and bath products to choose from, Their brushes are good quality and great for starting up your own kit, my first purchase from them was a concealer palette and contour palette (pics below) and i absolutely love them, and the packaging is so purdy!

Contour Palette - $18.95 USD                 Camouflage Palette - $16.99 USD

My next purchase was the 252 ultimate palette and the Citiscape brush set.

252 Ultimate Palette - $24.99 USD         Citiscape Brush Set - $14.99

All of the products i bought i did not pay full price for as Coastal Scents has regular sale reductions and bundle packs which makes this site even better to buy from, so i would highly recommend going onto the site and signing up for the news letter so you get the good deals through email.

This is a US based site which i had no problem with but i did get an extra tax cost when i got this delivered so that was a bit of a downer (be careful with selecting delivery options) but overall i was really happy with my purchases and look forward to buying from them again.

2)http://www.sleekmakeup.com/

Sleek, Sleek, Sleek, where to begin? I absolutely love this site! This UK based company is the bomb! Their product are amazingly pigmented and right on trend, The quality and affordability of these products are addictive so be careful when visiting this site :) I made my first purchase from this site nearly a year ago and i got some lipsticks, lip stains and foundations, well let me tell you...... i was super impressed.

Sleek Pout Paint (Very similar to OCC LipTar) - €6.99

Sleek Sheen and Matte Finish Lipsticks - €5.99

New Skin Revive Foundation - €9.99

My second purchase which was almost straight away after receiving my first batch was of Some iDivine eye shadow palettes, and they truly are DIVINE! so many colour combos to choose from i got 3 different ones for my kit.

iDivine Palettes - €9.99 each

If you couldn't tell already i really endorse this brand and they are still my go to products in my kit, I highly recommend this site to all my MUA and Makeup addict friends, i regularly buy from this site and often visit it to see what new items and trends they may have. Definitely sign up to their news letter to get news on deals and new trends.

As this is a UK based company the delivery options and cost (fast and affordable) were a lot better for me as i live in Ireland.

3) http://www.eyeslipsface.com/

E.L.F. is so affordable that you will be in shock when you visit this site, let me tell you, your basket will be full of products in seconds, i bought so much stuff the first time i visited this site like concealers, lip balms, lip treatments, brushes, foundations, eye shadows, etc. Most of their products are only $1 or $2 each and then foundations are like $6, i couldn't believe how much i got for my money. E.L.F. is based in the US so delivery to EU will take longer.

E.L.F Brushes $1 - $3 USD each

Elf Cosmetics $1 - $6 USD each

When i got these products i was delighted (probably because there was so much in the package) and on inspection of the products i was happy with my purchase, but, some of the products were a bit "cheap" concealer wasn't great at blending, brushes were a bit flimsy and the lip treatment smelt weird, what did i expect for that price, i was still completely satisfied with my purchase and would gladly purchase from this site again.

Hopefully this helps any beginners or budget makeup addicts choices to purchase from these sites.

Happy shopping!!!

Is it a dupe? or are the claims just poop :)

Heya!

So today i wanted to do a Dupe review, As we all know dupes are created to replicate higher end popular/coveted items for a faction of the cost and while some of these dupe dont really live up to the expectations of us makeup addicts there are some out there that really can compete with the higher end products, so here are my first two items to compare.

MUA Undressed Palette -VS- Urban Decay Naked Palette

So, Here's the facts Urban Decay's Naked Palette is our higher end product and consists of 12 eye shadows (6 shimmer and 6 matte) these products are highly pigmented and blend together effortlessly, The outer palette is in soft velvet and the whole item come in plastic protective case, Also you get a free eye shadow brush and free miniature primer potion.

Price - €44 ($50 US)

Here is the pic of the Naked Palette

Here are the Naked Palette swatches.

-

Now for the dupe, I heard about the MUA Undressed off some blog sites and YouTube channels and decided to check it out for myself, I bought the palette off eBay and the shipping was free, As soon as i got it i did the swatches straight away as i wanted to compare it to my much lovely and used Naked Palette, i was pleasantly surprised! These shadows were spot on, i could barely tell the difference between them.

Price - €10 ($14 US)

Here is a pic of the MUA Undressed Palette

Here are the Undressed Palette swatches.

-

Overall i was quiet happy to find this good quality dupe for such a low price, and even though the pigmentation in the MUA Undressed Palette was not quiet as rich as the Naked Palette, and you don't get any free primer or actual eye shadow brush (sponge top brush supplied) it was still pretty fricken awesome for what i paid and i will be recommending it some of my friends who like "makeup on a budget"

Turns out the claims are not poop, as this is a good quality dupe!

Dupe Result : 9/10

Review : Sugarpill Palettes

Hey Guys,

So here is a review on three palettes by Sugarpill Cosmetics (Burning Heart, Heart Breaker and Sweetheart)

I came across Sugarpill Cosmetics a year ago from watching tutorials on YouTube, i was hearing only great things about this brand especially about how pigmented their products were, i had to go find out what all the fuss was about, when i visited their site for the first time i fell in love, the products were so dramatic and the packaging was super cute!!

Here are some pics of the 3 palettes.

And here are the swatches to show the awesome pigmentation and dramatic colours :)
(No primer or cream shadow was used as a base, just straight from the pan to my arm)

Sweetheart palette

Heart Breaker Palette

Burning Heart Palette

This brand quickly became my favorite makeup and i use them on most of my clients for special events but for those of you who think the colours might seem a bit too dramatic for everyday use, they blend so well with neutral shades for a toned down look and are great for using in small doses for a little pop of colour.

There is also a large 12 pan expo edition with all 12 colours included, this is a rare find if you do not go to the likes of IMATS.

Here is a pic of mine :)

I just want to add that even though Sugarpill is based in the US and i am living in Ireland, their delivery is outstanding (ive never waited longer than a week for my order) and they offer free shipping for orders over $100 which i think is awesome as i usually buy that much from the site in a single purchase.

Brand Rating - 10/10
